32 years ago today, on February 22nd, 1980 the US Olympic men’s hockey team beat the USSR, 4-3.

Do you believe in miracles? YES!

The other day my friend Natalie and I decided to walk through all of the thrift/antique stores in the area. I found an amazing WWII navy hat in great condition and with a beautiful anchor all polished and nice, but it had to be bought along with the whole uniform. I don’t really have $90 to drop on a navy uniform, much less have much use for it… I just wanted that dang hat. Anyways! Our trip was not unsuccessful because I found these beauties:

AND they fit. Perfectly.

Couldn’t find much info on them, regarding how old they are, ect..

I couldn’t believe my luck. Only $10! I scooped up the box and held them like a baby the rest of the time we wandered through the shop.

I love the little hearts. I love these shoes. Everything about them is perfect. They look great with everything I’ve paired them with thus far. So excited for spring so I can let these babies make their debut!

Today I’d like to thank all of America’s presidents (past & present) for a day off of school, and coincidentally, work. Instead of tackling the pile of homework I have to do I decided to have a me-day. After a nice workout I decided to try out this nice little hair mask diy:

I used the oil, egg and honey. It felt pretty gross to work through the hair, and my shower cap now smells permanently of egg, but my hair feels so much softer! It also seemed to style easier, but maybe that’s just me being too excited about this.

THEN, I decided that since Minnesota weather wants to act like it’s the fall and not the middle of winter, I brought out the blender and a can of pumpkin. Magic was born..

Completely delicious and good for you, too!

Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

  • 1/2 cup pumpkin
  • 4 ounces Chobani vanilla yogurt
  • splash of skim milk
  • half a banana
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • cinnamon to taste
  • pumpkin pie to taste
    optional: reddi-whip

Throw all that stuff up there into a blender, and when it’s all smooth and creamy, pour yourself a glass!

Well here I am, starting a big ole’ blog like a weirdo. I’m not exactly sure what it’ll evolve into, if anything, I’m notorious for starting things like this and then never finishing them (I have about five or six journals with only a handful of sporadic entries).  Anyways, I’ll start with a little “What I Wore” entry. I wasn’t able to get a full-shot that included my entire body, as right after these two pictures were taken, my camera fell and broke. Oops! Maybe that’s an omen? Regardless..

What I Wore

Vincent is my favorite. I made him at Crypticon Minnesota two years back, he’s my pride and joy.
